Return to Work - Workshops

These workshop are designed for pregnant employees and those on maternity or parental leave. We go through all aspects of becoming a working parent, topics include the emotional aspects of returning, types of childcare, benefits which will ease the financial burden of childcare and how to make the transition back to work easier.

Split into 3 sessions, these workshops provide individuals and employees with support and information ensuring they are more informed and more prepared prior to them returning. 

The workshops are designed to be within a group setting, enabling parents-to-be and new parents to benefit from peer support and share ideas and coping strategies on how to make the return to work easier.

Parenting Journey Package

7 sessions supporting the emotional and wellbeing needs of the employee throughout the whole journey of becoming a parent and the transition back to work, including one introduction session before baby is born or adopted. The challenges, the joys, the good and hard bits of early parenthood are discussed and explored ensuring parents feel listened to and supported at regular milestones during their leave.

Timescales of returning to work are explained and a back-to-work plan is established to ensure plans are thought out in a timely manner, including childcare and flexible working options. Sessions can be based on ‘peer support’ with the aim of reducing isolation by meeting other parents and develop coping strategies to manage work and family life effectively and to not only survive, but thrive after returning to work. A self-care plan is also developed to promote the employee's wellbeing and avoid burnout.

Example mentoring schedule based on a 9 month maternity leave:

1st session - Introductory session before maternity leave starts

Back To Work Package

Helping parents with the emotional rollercoaster of returning to work and help with the planning for the practicalities of managing work and family life. Coping strategies are discussed and a back-to-work plan is drawn up, looking at barriers which may hinder a successful return, including practical solutions to cope during the first few months back. A self-care plan is established to ensure employees can meet the demands of both work and family life by looking after themselves both practically and emotionally.

Sleep Workshops

Our trained sleep coach will provide parents with a deeper understanding of a wide range of common baby and toddler sleep difficulties. It will also provide you with up to date, gentle and responsive strategies that you can add to your toolkit when supporting your child.’ 

This workshop is designed for employees who's baby or toddler is not sleeping well, and is having an negative affect on the parent's wellbeing or performance at home and at work.

Our sleep coach can also provide more tailored support packages for parents who need more tailored support.

Parent & Baby Groups

We can provide parent and baby groups for those of maternity and paternity leave either in your workplace or at a external location. Facilitated by our trained peer support mentors, these are a great opportunity for new parents to other new mums and dads in your workplace, enabling them to build connections and widen their support network once they have returned.

Ad Hoc Parent & Carer Support

Supporting the emotional wellbeing of employees who have returned to work and require ongoing support going forward. Emotional and wellbeing needs are recognised and supported and the challenges of balancing work and family life are identified. Tailored signposting to our extensive network of services are provided to suit the needs of employee.


Maternity Wellbeing Workshops

Employees can choose from a range of 45 or 90 minute workshops including Mindfulness, Relaxation Techniques, 'How to Manage Stress and Anxiety' and 'Wellbeing at home with a baby or young child'.

Sessions held virtually or at our wellness hub by our trained wellbeing coach.

Tailored Support

We can offer tailored support to pregnant employees or new parents before or after the return to work. We can help by supporting their wellbeing or mental health, help them plan and manage a better work and family life balance or they may be experiencing short term challenges which we can help them overcome.
